Brandon DeKosky Receives 2025 AAI ASPIRE Award

February 28, 2025

Brandon DeKosky, the Phillip and Susan Ragon Career Development Professor; Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering, has been selected as a recipient of the 2025 ASPIRE Award from the American Association of Immunologists (AAI). This award recognizes outstanding early career researchers in the field of immunology and supports their continued contributions to advancing scientific knowledge.

The AAI ASPIRE Award is designed to encourage and support promising scientists in their research endeavors, providing them with opportunities to further their investigations and share their findings with the broader immunology community. As part of this honor, DeKosky has been invited to present his research alongside other awardees at the AAI Annual Meeting, May 2025 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Brandon DeKosky is also a core member of the Ragon Institute of MGH, Harvard, and MIT. His research focuses on developing single-cell platforms for large-scale analyses of adaptive immunity, advancing biologic drug discovery and understanding a diversity of adaptive immune cells in various diseases.

His work has significant applications in infectious disease interventions, particularly in malaria and HIV-1 prevention, as well as in the development of personalized cancer therapeutics. Through his research, DeKosky and his team are progressing the future of immunology and biomedical science.

DeKosky has received numerous accolades in recognition of his contributions to the field. His doctoral research was supported by both a Hertz Foundation Fellowship and an NSF Graduate Fellowship. In 2016, he earned a K99 Pathway to Independence Award and an NIH Early Independence Award.

In addition to the 2025 AAI ASPIRE Award, his recent honors include: Department of Defense Career Development Award, Biomedical Engineering Society Rising Star Award and the Amgen Young Investigator Award.
