Since 1916, the MIT Practice School has paired graduate students with industry sponsors to solve real engineering challenges, guided by MIT faculty and experienced station directors. Sponsors turn to the program to gain objective, data-driven recommendations, explore innovative technical approaches, and build relationships with future engineering leaders, while tapping into top MIT graduate talent and strengthening ties to MIT’s faculty and research community. Many organizations return as sponsors year after year. Unlike a typical internship, the program blends the depth of a graduate academic program with the practical impact of an engineering consulting engagement, delivering thoughtful, analytical solutions from exceptionally talented graduate students.
