April 2023
Kelsey Reed has been selected to receive the 2023 MIT Graduate Women of Excellence Award
This award recognizes graduate women who exemplify leadership and outstanding accomplishment.
The recipients are considered to meet the following criteria:
– is a leader among her peers in her example and her actions
– is dedicated to serving the MIT community to improve the graduate student experience
– provides thoughtful and constructive feedback when asked for advice
– is a catalyst for change when challenges arise
Kelsey has truly contributed to the ChemE community through her multiple efforts on campus. She is recognized for her efforts to work with fellow graduate students in creating a math bootcamp document for incoming graduate students to help refresh their math and coding skills before starting their first year at MIT. Kelsey’s contributions to the Math Bootcamp have improved the general performance in core courses with an emphasis on math and coding. Without her advocating for student needs, the department may never have addressed this deficiency in such an effective way.
We invite the MIT ChemE community to attend the award reception Monday, May 8, 2023, from 4:30-7 pm at the MIT Samberg Conference Center 6th Floor (Building E52, 50 Memorial Dr., Cambridge)
Please RSVP to this celebration by using the OGE online form.
